Special Forces Freedom Ride

September 12, 2020 10:00am - 2:00pm

Farrow Harley-Davidson and Ricart Automotive host the assembly point at our Sunbury store beginning at noon with kickstands up at 2 pm for The Buckeye Lake Winery.  We will auction wine and related items at the Winery as part of this fundraiser. This year we will honor the Gold Star Family of SSG Shamus Goare who grew up 20 minutes from the Sunbury store and was KIA in Afghanistan June 2005. Shamus' mother and father will probably be at the event.  Shamus' helicopter was shot down in the incident made famous by the Mark Wahlburg movie Lone Survivor. Rolling Thunder Ohio Chapter 5 and one other RT Ohio chapter were anchor supporters during his memorial service in Danville, OH in July 2005.

EVENT DETAILS: Special Forces Association Chapter 45 (SFA 45) is located in Columbus Ohio. The chapter is composed of Active Duty, National Guard and retired Special Forces qualified personnel, mainly residing  in Ohio. SFA 45 is a 501 (c) (19) organization and manages The Ohio Green Beret Support Group, LLC, a 501 (c) (3) charitable fund.
Ohio has one National Guard Special Forces Company, B/2/19SFG(A), located in Columbus, Ohio. This unit has deployed internationally numerous times to Support the U.S. War on Terror.
The fund supports chapter members, members of B/2/19 SFG(A), and other Green Berets who call Ohio their home to support their families when specific circumstances inhibit Green Berets from supporting their families alone.
The fund also supports a scholarship program that provides grants to Green Beret members and their families.
Our primary means of revenue is a yearly 3-Gun Competition, Motorcycle Freedom Ride and raffles.
Please review the information on our website if you would like additional information on our Chapter: SFA45.org or Facebook at SFA 45.
